I really like how things have been going in english lately we just finished our human rights/civil rights unit which has been reallt interesting. We are on a new unit Mystery yesterday we had a discussion about what factors lead to a good mystery book/movie such things that include characters, the introduction and other things. We had a disscussion about movies we would watch that had to do about mystery lets see how this goes hahah.

ahhh, hello bloggers todayy has been a stressful dayy kinda for one we all got interm reports which i was not looking forward to but i got okayy grades, on the plus side i did really good on a biology test. I like all of the stories/ movie clips we've been watching in english which are concerning human rights which really means certain privlages a person has in society. One of the topics we have been talking about lately is world war II and concentration camps, taking in concideration can you really compare and contrast jewish concervation camps and japanese camps, no the jews were taking to camp worked to death and were also be put into bad living conditions which they would eventually be shot or would all be tricked into going in the gas chambers. The stories we read one titled "Insufficent Care" . And this story dealt with a japanese woman not being accepted to the college where she wanted to go to because of her race, then later her father is in a camp , where the living conditions are really poor and he ends up dying because of the doctor not giving him the right diagnosis. Today we read stories about gays being open to their realtionships and in which doing so trying to form a Gay, Straight, Alliance . During this long process they are constantly teased and taunted for being different in which not only pushes them to accomplish their goal , but to achieve it also.

enqlish movie / book questions !

1). Well in the first chapter we learn about the misus, and how the blacks are not allowed to count. Mmmy is like a mother figure to all of the children which she shares a room with, Sarny is one of those. Mammy would pray at night, she was not supposed to, she would also talk about freedom. Old Waller was the slave owner, who brought NightJohn who knew how to read and write but the slave owner had no idea of this. Waller was a very big headed person who thought very highly of himself. NightJohn was brought back in bad shape he was walking in front of the horse while Waller was riding the big brown horse, he had a whip everywhere from old scars he was naked and their were flies all around him. All of the slaves were treated poorly they would be giventheir food in wooden troughs like animals . NightJohn has made a plan with Sarny to tradevtobacco in exchange he will teach her letters. Alice was a breeder , shw was very spacey because of all the wronging doing that was done to her she was whipped so bad that maggots came she then had to be sewn up. Jim the master let the dogs attack himand then he would pull them off. Pawley he met a girl , but forgot to make it back in enough time Waller let the dogs get him , but he did not let them kill him. Mmammy begins getting worried that Sarny might get whipped or worst if it gets out she knows how to read In response NightJohn says that negros should be taught to read and write so that years from now we will know what they went through back then. 


2). Malcom X- elected president had the highest grades in school, was seen as unique
Mr Ostrowski- always gave malcolm the impression that he liked him 
Mr MaynardAllen- the white states man 
Mr Swerlin- used many racist jokes terms throughout the story 
Mr Lyons- was smart, and a very hard working man 
Mrs Lyons- was a very good woman 
Mr Williams- used many jokes about african americans 
Many thought malcolm changed, he wasn't liking when the term "nigger"was being use they thought something was wrong with him. 


3). Th stories were all talking about times of lynching. And during this time many african americans were seen as animals , many were even treated as animals whites would give them no respect. Whites and blacks were seen as unequal so seperating schools was used whites and blacks in different schools. In all of the stories they were taking place in the south, but in these stories they all had a tone of sadness also a good message was in all of these stories .

english class !

Lets seee here , we just started a new topic in class monday we got 5 questions which had to do with society and political figures today and in the past . Some of the questions we were asked were dealing with what race has had it the hardest in society or something like that talking about how much our world has changed since the 1800s which goes all the way back to slavery and freedom, and stereotypes such as foreign people if they enter the United States they are seen as illegal immigrants, and african americans are seen as untrustworthy and dishonest. We have been talking about political figures in our society such as Martin Luther King , Malcolm X ,Reverend Al Sharpton .We are reading alot of stories which are dealing with slavery and what they been through during those hard times. The story that got me the most was the story we read yesterday , called NightJohn it was such a sad story but it deals with real things that happened like 20 years ago and at the end of the story NightJohn says to the women and the little girl the reason he wants them to be able to read is so that people will be able to read what they went through twenty years ago. What really got me was how much we have evolved as people, were not so judgemental now and saying or using racial terms.

well imm sittinq in enqlish class i just took this test about the twelve angry it was pretty easy , well i think so i loved this book its about twelve men who are in the jury trying to decide whether the boy on trial is guilty or not guilty, all of the madness in this story is about growing up in slums and having a father who beats his son on a regular bases which makes the jury think at first that the boy might have bought a knife in attempts to kill his father, but there is alot of confusion on what exactly happened on that night the boy said he was seeing a movie but then to realize he bought a knife then went home in motives to kill his father in all of the frustation and anger he had been holding in for the last couple of years of his life . And in the very end of the story while we can see each of the 12 jurors points of view on the murder we then realize how much they really care as of the boy's life being on the line.

hellloooo bloggers, wow its been awhile english class has been pretty easy we just finished up everythinq over the book to kill a mockingbird, which i thought was a really well written book it starts off kind of slow , but as your continuley reading the book it just gets more interesting, we find out about a man whose name is Tom Robinson who is a black man who is later accused of rape to a white woman, but as they go to court the truth is begining to unravel Tom is not able to do what has been said about him, because his hand is messed up from a work related accident. Then it is later revealed that her father is the one who had beaten his daughter Mayella , and in the end Atticus is at home and later to find out that his kids have been beaten up in a sad misfourtune Jem his son is so badly hurt he is unconcious and is left with a broken arm, but this story the meaning to kill a mockingbird has a deeper meaning , which says that to kill a mockingbird whoch causes us no harm would mean that we as people could be capable of taking the life of someone who is innocent for no reason in this case Tom Robinson would be the mockingbird who is later killed, and Bob Ewell would be the killer in this case. Now we sjust began to read the story The Twelve Angry Men , which i really didn't understand at first but the book it really makes you think about who , or what is watching you or may be around you.

hello fellow enqlish bloqqers, how are thinqs qoinq ?
well for me thinqs have been qoinq extremly qreat this week which has been testinq week for final qrades on report cards has been pretty much smooth sailinq except for my history test 108 multiple choice questions plus 3 essay questions which is pretty hard to study for , but i think i did my best on that test . The enqlish test we had friday was really easy I think , and soo was the short answer thanks Mr. Potter for discussinq it with us the day before that really helped me to understand the question a little better , you should have made the test a little harder which have qave it a little harder challenqe , I finshed the test and had a lot of confidence my test was an 80% , sooo yeaaa.
I hope everybody else felt the same way about that test like I did , imm really excitedd to see my qrades for the 1st nine weeks.

well lately in enqlish we have been readinq to kill a mockinqbird i myself love the book its qood some parts make you wonder , but as were endinq the book the suspense has risen in many ways , speakinq of the book we will see the play soon i cant wait !

Why hello my fellow bloggers how are things going , why for me things haven't been going so great last week my whole bookbag was stolen which means i have completely nothing and which also means im kind of behind on my reading to kill a mockingbird, but luckily mr potter gave me a new book which was much needed. I hope everything gets better this week and i catch up with the class reading wise because if not this won't turn out to be good for me in the end. I'm just happy that all of my techers gave me a little extension work wise because lately i've  been soo stressed about my work and grades.

im so happy thhat next monday is october 4th, which means that the trial research is finally due thank goodness this project has been consuming all of my free time after school. And lately i've been soo busyy that I really don't have time to study for my quizess which is not good, but some how I worked that out to where i can study and do my trial research and maintain good grades also. But now since were almost done with the trial research we are probably most likely gonna have to learn a new unit which means there will be lots of homework andd tests that will later follow.

We have been working for 2 weeks on our trial paper research its alot of work when you think about it , but its not that bad I mean we could be reading poetry and having tests every week soo yeaa.
I'm researching Andrea Yates there is soooo much info I found on her so my research has been pretty much smooth sailing , the only part I hated about the whole project was the notecards which are very time consuming.
Today we were just typing up our works cited page which was very easyyy for the least part I thinkk. Mr potter is the coolest teacher I have besides my Choir teacher , Mr potter never pronounces my name right which is not very hard and on top of that he called me last today for checking my works cited page thanxx Mr potter haaah !

enqlish persuasive writinq essay !

soo happy i finished my essay yesterdayy i quess the topic i chose hard to findd research on but it is also veryy important . Well todayy i walked into the enqlish room to findd we have neww seats qreatt i sit in the corner of the room by the windows that isnt soo badd if there was a fire i juss have to take 3 stepss && imm out lol . Anyways todayy we were editinq each others essays andd their ue wednesdayy quud i hopee i qet a qood qrade !
Sooo, todayy i forgot that the persuasive essay was due I just remembered and submited it to turnitin.com. Well other than that today in english class Mr potter handed out this 16 page trial packet haha ohh happpy joyyy uqqqh well the good thing is we have 3 weekstil its due and the bad part is we need 55 notecardss mhmmm not soo badd in a wayy i guess the more sources you have the easier it is on yourself, sooo yeaaa .

english class :/

So, we just started a unit on poetry last week. And one thing comes to mindd boringgg , welll its not all that bad i guess writing poetry comes easy to me. Now we are starting a new unit persuasive writing blahhh , writing essays are the hardest thing to start first off you have to think of a great intro andd thesis, three topic sentences , restating the thesis and a conclusion this hit me like a train wayyyyyy to muchh stuff to do andd the greatest thing of all is that the rough draft is due mondayy . I have to say english is one of my favorite classes we get to make our own blogs which is pretty cool and we get to say what we like/dislike about the class or assignments were working on. I just hope that the next unit we work on in class is a little more exciting than reading or writing .

The story we read today in class was very interesting.
